Bio

"They Were Legends" is a super group from St. Louis, Missouri that creates soulful music across various genres. The group was formed in late 2021 by Roddric Ward (aka Rip James) and Terrance Waffer (aka Thrush) while recording their second song at J-Crazy Entertainment. They quickly realized they needed additional sounds to satisfy their fans, so they invited Darian Wilson (aka Professor Payne) to add drums to their songs. Soon after, Payne joined the group, and Thrush reached out to Matthew Kury (aka Kury Bass) to add the bass guitar to the group. By mid-2023, the group was complete and deep in the recording of their debut album, self-titled "They Were Legends." With everyone on board and the album near completion, Thrush and Kury, already well-known in the local St. Louis music scene, started using all of their connections to secure the spotlight for the band.
